Here Are KFTD’s Steps to Prevent Bribery

Bribery is a legal infringement that can jeopardize the existence of a company. Recognizing the potential consequences, PT Kimia Farma Trading & Distribution (KFTD) develops an ethical framework to deal with bribery within the company. This regulation is the actualization of the Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles to which this company adheres, as articulated in the international standard ISO 37001:2016 for Anti-Bribery Management System (SMAP).

Specifications of the KFTD Bribery Handling Program

There are multiple specifications that must be followed in implementing SMAP to ensure that the program performs properly.

  1. The regulation must comply with Indonesia’s anti-bribery laws and regulations.
  2. All KFTD employees and leaders must contribute and comply with existing anti-bribery regulations.
  3. Ensuring that every work unit carries out bribery risk assessments and controls.
  4. Determining the target of the implementation of SMAP.
  5. Ensuring the anti-bribery regulations are successfully executed.
  6. Ensuring resource availability in implementing SMAP.
  7. Review the implementation of SMAP periodically to ensure its effectiveness and future advancement.
  8. Communicating anti-bribery regulations to the stakeholders.
  9. Providing a KFTD bribery reporting system.
  10. Determining sanctions and rewards for violations and employee participation in the implementation of SMAP.
  11. Determining the SMAP compliance function along with its duties, responsibilities, and authority in the SMAP.

KFTD Bribery Reporting System

As it is stated in point  number 8, KFTD provides a reporting system that is available for internal and external parties to report the practice of bribery, called Whistle Blowing System (WBS) with the following specifications.

  1. The system can be accessed online, and the report will be anonymous.
  2. The investigation will be done with full transparency and accountability and based on the existing law.
  3. The report will be processed by the compliance and risk management unit and the ethics committee within a specific period of time.
  4. The sanction will be applied when the report is proven to be valid.
  5. The whistle-blowers and the involved investigators will be given protection from all forms of threats and intimidation as long as these parties can maintain the confidentiality of the reported case.

In conclusion, KFTD demonstrates its commitment to preventing and handling the practice of bribery by developing comprehensive regulations that encompass every aspect. A bribery reporting system is also established to ensure the priority with which legal issues that potentially occur in KFTD are handled.
